Aimman Hafizal
The Place We Landed II
Inspired by Kuala Lumpur’s layered history and rapid transformation, this piece explores migration, resilience, and adaptation. The forest symbolizes mystery and exploration, mirroring those seeking new beginnings in the city. More than just a metropolis, KL emerges as a dynamic space where dreams and realities intersect, shaping identities and redefining home.
Nik M Shazmie
Mon-zilla Urban Destruction
This piece explores the contrast between Ultraman’s heroic futurism and Godzilla’s apocalyptic warnings. Reflecting on humanity’s complex ties with urbanization, industrialization, and nature, the work highlights the tension between progress, decay, and ecological balance in urban life.
Yap Ah Shak House, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, adjacent to Jalan Yap Ah Shak, is a historic building transformed into a high-end commercial center, named after Yap Ah Shak, a 19th-century Chinese merchant. Yap Ah Shak was a prominent Chinese leader in Kuala Lumpur, serving as the fourth Kapitan China, and actively promoting local mining and commerce, making significant contributions to the city's development. This meticulously restored building preserves its historical charm while incorporating modern design elements, now serving as a multifunctional space for premium private offices, dining, art exhibitions, and events.
